The Little Things

A lot of little details have been coming together in the past few weeks. I still have to work on the wedding schedule and wedding favors, but that can wait until I come back to Pensacola on the 13th. I’m happy with what’s been finished, like what our reception tables will look like! One of [...]

I was going to knock down my decision of having carnations as the flower of the wedding. But… then I saw some beautiful wedding bouquets on a couple’s Flickr account that I just adored. I may be biased because I loooove the color red, but the bouquets were simple and very nice. I’ll have to [...]

One month left!

I’m supposed to be packing, but instead, I am eating my lunch and making this post. :/ Here’s what I’ve been up to lately…

Krista entered candy heaven (the smell of the chocolate was amazing).

Brandi as a favor box elf/looks like Pam from The Office. (It’s the hair.)

Made bridesmaids tired at the fabric store.

Saw all the [...]

This is not our wedding website. This is out blog. Although, technically, our website is a blog as well. But visit it anyways. It will tell you stuff!
I just realized that on our “about us” page, Billy and I are wearing very similar things in the pictures of us from 2002 and 2007. He’s wearing [...]

Made up.

I just got a whole lot of makeup last weekend as a gift from Mrs. Riggins! I was pretty psyched- girls love makeup, and I loooove makeup. But, I don’t get to wear it often, so anytime I have some, it’s a treat!
Anywhooo, I just had a panicked thought about wedding day makeup and hair. [...]

PLA & Wood

From kara.kent
So… I found this picture on Flickr, and this is pretty much how my table will look like. Corn cups and wooden plates and flatware. Oh, and add recycled dinner napkins and bagasse coffee cups to that, too. Not what every little girl has in mind for a wedding, especially since I heartbreakingly love china [...]

Woody Plates!

Next week, I will be the proud owner of 160 place settings of Natural Wood dinnerware. These were much more inexpensive than the Bambu version, costing almost $500 less. Yay! I can’t wait to get them and stamp them with permanent ink to add a little something-something (yes, I would do that).

OooOoo, pretty.

I’m feeling a bit under the weather, but before I lie down, I just wanted to post about the upcoming Martha Stewart Occasions line. I stalk Martha Stewart Crafts like no other. In fact, many of our wedding crafts stem from that collection. Starting May 23, Martha Stewart will start featuring the motherload of awesomeness: [...]

Billy did not really want to use his car in the wedding for any reason except to drive away. He purchased it himself, and it’s fully paid now, so he’s really protective. No wonder his stuff looks brand new, and mine looks… worldly. Anyways, we’re having a light blue funky trolley at the wedding, and [...]

Books and Tables

I thought I’d upload some pictures I took today of another table setting and our guest book.
I’ve been thinking of how to decorate the tables for the last few days. Elements that will be present so far: candles and natural colored manzanita branches (ordered 18 of them yesterday!). Future possibilites: my favorite type of paper [...]

Bambu for You

I had my dreams of actual plates, silverware, and glasses dashed during the weekend. It wasn’t pleasant, but now I am resorting to an old idea I had considered: Bambu veneerware. It’s the only thing I’ll accept if I can’t have the real stuff- however, it’s quite pricey. Next problem: finding cute plastic cups…….

Cuppy Cake

It is becoming clear that I am quickly losing control over my own wedding, and while I have time, I must regain that control and have input into what will be done. Much to Grandma’s dismay, we are having a cupcake wedding.
I hadn’t planned to before, but the thought of having to cut everyone a [...]

My Grandmother…

… Lividly despises my SECOND wedding gown.
Yes, folks, this is the second wedding gown I have chosen. The first one, which I still LOVE and try on when I can, was deemed “too old fashioned.” So, I went and bought another one. Ugh. She hates it. And she is trying to give me every reason about [...]

YAY: O-Town

Right now, Billy and I live in NSB, an hour away from Orlando. I love it there- all so quiet AND next to the beach. However, getting stuff for the wedding in those parts has been kind of bleh. I have visited the nearest Wal-Mart so many times for the wedding craft aisle, but it’s [...]

:/

I was proof-reading the ceremony program, and I misspelled my middle name.
I always do that. I’m not even sure how to really spell it. Not cool.
Also misspelled “Ainslie.”

I used to wear a lot of makeup. You couldn’t really tell because it was usually a brown color, but I loooove makeup. In middle school and high school, I was really into it. But after I moved away to college, I haven’t worn a lot of it. I purchased some makeup last October, but [...]

I hadn’t really thought about it, but I knew I liked ceremony programs. Originally, I wanted a small sized booklet with ribbons, but then I based my final design on simplicity and how easy it would be to put together. So far, the program is a tea-length one-pager, and it’s very simple. Yeah, I had to cut [...]
